On Wednesday, June 3, family members and military colleagues of six U.S. Marines killed in a helicopter crash last month in earthquake-ravaged Nepal gathered for a memorial service at Camp Pendleton. On Saturday, May 30, outgoing VFW 5868 Post Commander Arnie Silverman was honored during the first intermission of the Anaheim Ducks vs. Chicago Blackhawks game. Arnie’s family submitted his name to the Duck’s organization “Salute to Those Who Serve” initiative and after the arrangements were made, Arnie was “lured” to the game and surprised with the honor.
